Makara Ottoman Large

From the enchanted waters of the Ramayana emerges the Makara—a mythical creature poised between the familiar and the fantastical. Part crocodile, part imagined beast, it carries the untamed spirit of rivers and forests, long associated with the guardianship of sacred waters. The collection places this ancient creature within a playful universe of Vanara, where armies of monkeys bear trumpets, rockets and boats, and mythical beings seem to traverse freely between water and land. In this meeting of history and imagination, the Makara becomes a symbol of the epic’s wonderfully fluid world, where nature, myth and adventure exist as one.
