Vana

A sacred site of introspection and illumination, the Vana tree rises in twisting limbs, its body shaped by wind, sun and instinct, providing a forest canopy. The Vana sculpture is both literally and symbolically emblematic of forest and fable: balancing representation and abstraction while maintaining its fundamental elegance. Brass comes to form in hollowed joinery, textured and embodied with vitality. Upon its boughs gather the animal figures of the Panchatantra fables—lion, monkey, deer, elephant, and others—each a symbol of parable and ancestral truth. Perched across the brass limbs, they give the sculpture a pulse of story, and remain witness to life surrounding them.
